Interim, £490, 60,5cm x 45cm
Interim, £490, 60,5cm x 45cmINTERIM, £490, 60.5CM X 45CM Materials: Coloured pencil on metal. The term “interim” means “intervening time”. The two empty spaces in the metal represent moments in time and the figure in the middle represents our possibilities. The figure is intentionally neutral, calm and unfinished. If you should buy this painting, I would love to see the spaces to the left and right being filled by representations of your past and future.
The Calm Cave, £310, 29cm x 36cm
The Calm Cave, £310, 29cm x 36cmThe Calm Cave - 2019 - £310 On this piece of metal was a rusty half and a dark, probably burnt half. It inspired me to paint a man resting, maybe contemplating in a cave. To me, this painting represents calm and a feeling of content.
I Saw Myself, £330, 36cm x 28cm
I Saw Myself, £330, 36cm x 28cm I SAW MYSELF, £330, 60.5CM X 27CM Materials: Coloured pencil, instant coffee on metal. I always enjoy working on rusty saws. This one did not have particular colors or shapes that informed the painting. The person depicted, whether he is mourning or in heavy thoughts, is one of my favorite images. I like the glow that illuminates him from behind… The shadow covering his front was mostly created with instant coffee, which can also be seen running down in the rust. The title ‘I saw myself’ is, of course, a silly pun, but it also gives the painting a tragic aspect of self-realization that can be painful.
Silent Prayer, £260, 21,5cm x 36cm
Silent Prayer, £260, 21,5cm x 36cmSILENT PRAYER, £260, 20.5CM X 36CM Materials: Acrylic paint, instant coffee and coloured pencil on metal. This painting was part of an exhibition focused on the human form. The shape of the piece of metal was ideal for a depiction of devotion and the religious practice of bowing down to a higher power. If you look closely you will see an energy ascending from the head of the devotee, or descending onto his head. The silent prayer raising to the heavens or the answer to the prayer, the blessing being received by the man on his knees. upside
The Shape of Water, £190, 26cm x 15cm
The Shape of Water, £190, 26cm x 15cmTHE SHAPE OF WATER, £190, 26CM X 14.5CM Materials: Ink and coloured pencil on metal. It is hard to believe, but most of the black silhouette was already on the material - the remains of the original paint that once covered the metal. I used ink and coloured pencils to create the soft and fluid shape of the body. The Painting has a pure, simplistic nature, similar to cave paintings. Though the title of the painting was inspired by the movie of the same name, the painting wasn’t inspired by the film.
Venus of Milo, 2018 - 170£
Venus of Milo, 2018 - 170£VENUS, £170, 36CM X 16CM Materials: Coloured pencil and instant coffee on metal. Almost 100% of the female shape in the painting already existed before I started working on the piece. The stark contrast between the brown rust on the outside and the orange rust in the middle already existed and only had to be emphasised which I did by using instant coffee and coloured pencils. The painting represents the qualities of holy femininity, motherhood and fertility.
INTO THE ABYSS, 2018 - 410£ 70x60cm
INTO THE ABYSS, 2018 - 410£ 70x60cmINTO THE ABYSS, £410, 70CM X 60CM Materials: Acrylic paint, charcoal, instant coffee, pencil on wood. Friedrich W. Nietzsche wrote: ““Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” The same is true regarding sadness, depression and anger. If you gaze too long into this darkness it becomes part of you. The black material on this painting is tar. It was already on the wood when I found it, including the bit of tar that is now the mask on the man’s face. He has stared so long into the darkness in front of him that even now, that he is ready to walk away, the darkness follows him. But in time hope will break through the darkness.
Skeksis, 2017 - £190
Skeksis, 2017 - £190SKEKSIS, £190, 22CM X 29CM Materials: Acrylic paint, instant coffee, pencil on aluminum. Skeksis are creatures from the 1982 fantasy movie “The Dark Crystal”. They are vulture-like creatures representing greed, anger, gluttony and other vices. It is one of my favourite movies and I was happy to find a piece of aluminum that gave me the opportunity to paint one of the creatures of the movie.
Cloak, £450, 70cm x 60cm
Cloak, £450, 70cm x 60cmCLOAK, £450, 70CM X 61CM Materials: Acrylic paint on plastic. I am not too sure what this piece of plastic originally was part of. For some reason it’s shape reminded me of a hooded person. I actually used a photo of mother Teresa as inspiration to paint the cloaked person but change the face. The splatters of white in the background make it look like a starring-night. This cosmic feeling usually makes people think this painting depicts either God or the emperor from star wars.
Jesus in a Pan 40x40cm, £450
Jesus in a Pan 40x40cm, £450JESUS IN A PAN, £450, 40CM X 40CM Materials: Dry pigment brushed in metal. A bearded face could already be seen in the rust of this old wok. I used dry pigment to bring out the details in the face and in the beard. Some people find it spooky, I find it very peaceful.
Pan 78x50cm, £420
Pan 78x50cm, £420PAN, £420, 50CM X 78CM Materials: Coloured pencil. This piece of metal was part of my neighbours wood burning stove. The devilish face with the gentle smile was already part of the rusty stains on the black background. I gave the face depth and added the hones. Even though it is settled it is one of my favourite yet most overlooked paintings.
UrSkeks - 2022 - £ 240
UrSkeks - 2022 - £ 240 UrSkeks - 2022 - £ 240 I painted this creature just by following the shape of the material. I did not have any specific creature or character in mind. But I knew it would have a certain dignity about it. Only after I had finished it, I realised that it looked exactly like the entities called UrSkeks from the movie the Dark Crystal. They are wise creatures representing balance and the integration of virtues and vices.

Disposable Male - 2019 - £260 Disposable Male - 2019 - £260 A plastic bottle I found on Balnakeil Beach. I thought it had a very masculine shape, so I turned it into a muscular torso. It can also be used as a little vase. The title is a commentary that the worth of men in society is often only measured on their utility.
Russia - 2022 - £240
Russia - 2022 - £240 Russia - 2022 - £240 Acrylic/Instant Coffee on Metal She seems to struggle not only because she marches on in the harsh Russian winter wind, but also under the weight of her coat. This could be just a harsh winter, or maybe these are war times. I hope she makes it home safe and she has a fire burning.
How to paint your Dragon - 2021 - £240
How to paint your Dragon - 2021 - £240 How to paint your Dragon - 2021 - £240 This piece of black plastic almost became something very different. If you turn it upside down, it has the shape of a boot. But I decided to go with the dragon, not knowing if it would work out at all. But look at him now...I love his friendly smirk and the cheek in his eye. I used a white pencil and increased the black contrast with charcoal.
Apocalypse - 2022 - £280
Apocalypse - 2022 - £280 Apocalypse - 2022 - £280 Colored Pencils/Instant Coffee/Acrylic on Metal Please take your time! Look at the terrifying details. All the creatures that you see were already in the patterns. Yes, I brought them to life, but they were really already there. It is an apocalyptic scene of human sacrifice (to alien overlords?), cannibalism, unholy worship, demons and visions of destruction. This painting does not mean to glorify any of these horrors. It is a warning.
OBJECT, £350, 45CM X 30CM
OBJECT, £350, 45CM X 30CM OBJECT, £350, 45CM X 30CM Materials:Coloured pencil on wood. From an artistic point of view this is my favorite piece. It didn’t take me long to create this weird character. The mask was already in the patterns of the wood. In this painting I see men as objects stripped of human dignity. Wearing a mask to hide the true self. The limbs are part of an industrial machine, his sexuality exposed; objectified for both economic and sexual availability.
